Veracity Savant

Black kids are out here shining brighter than ever,  from viral TikTok dancers to pee-wee athletes already looking like they’re headed to the draft, and even toddler sensations whose viral moments keep the internet in a chokehold. But with the spotlight comes tough decisions, pressure, and sometimes judgment, leaving parents wondering how to nurture all that talent without dimming their child’s light or burning out themselves.

Enter Janice Robinson-Celeste, founder of Successful Black Parenting, the first national magazine for Black parents, which she launched in 1993. Now Robinson-Celeste has expanded her mission, the CEO most recently launching the Black Parenting Academy, a new resource designed exactly for this moment, Black Enterprise reports. Her flagship forum, Raising A Star (Without Losing Your Mind), is now available for on-demand streaming and is packed with game-changing advice from people who’ve been there, done that, and got the receipts to prove it.

The lineup of experts is stacked in the forum: global supermodel Sessilee Lopez, top talent agents, performing arts principals, and parents like Eunice Atitsogbe, mom of social media phenom Sean “The Science Kid,” who’s racked up over 1.5 million followers. Together, they pulled no punches in tackling the real issues that come with raising talented kids — from managing jealousy and entitlement, to choosing the right schools, to knowing when it’s okay for your child to take a step back.

“This conversation was born from my own lived experience guiding my daughter, global supermodel Sessilee Lopez, into the professional modeling world at just 12 years old — a journey filled with incredible opportunities but also unexpected pitfalls and hard lessons,” said Robinson-Celeste. “I knew I had to create this forum to help fellow parents avoid the mistakes I made, see around corners, and feel empowered to support their talented children without sacrificing their childhood, joy, or future.”

And because it’s back-to-school season, Robinson-Celeste is making sure no parent is left out. The Black Parenting Academy is offering FREE memberships through September 30, 2025. That comes with instant access to Raising A Star (Without Losing Your Mind), plus a lineup of upcoming events that cover everything from homework hacks to raising smart, safe Black kids in the age of AI, to financial survival skills for families.

“As Black parents, we deserve resources that speak directly to our experiences and our children’s unique journeys,” Robinson-Celeste said. “That’s why we’re inviting every parent to join the Black Parenting Academy for FREE right now — so they can feel seen, supported, and fully prepared to help their children rise.”

So whether your little one is destined for Broadway, the NFL, or just the school talent show, the Black Parenting Academy is making sure you don’t have to figure it all out alone. You can sign up now at bit.ly/blackparentingacademy — because raising stars should come with a village too.
