Veracity Savant

Black culture, gaming, and music are about to get an even bigger spotlight. Cxmmunity Media, the Black-owned entertainment and events company at the center of it all, just secured a six-figure strategic investment from Live Nation Urban, Variety reports. And trust, it’s not just about the money, it’s about the impact.

The partnership means Cxmmunity is about to supercharge its content production pipeline and expand its live events, including two of Atlanta’s hottest upcoming gatherings: the anime-meets-culture Atlanime on October 18 and the music-and-gaming mashup The Kickback on December 10.

Live Nation Urban isn’t just cutting a check, either; they’re bringing their resources and connections to the table while also collaborating with The Cxmmunity Foundation, the company’s philanthropic arm dedicated to helping Black talent break into gaming, esports, and digital entertainment. It’s a win for both culture and community.

“Our partnership with Cxmmunity represents a commitment to the future of next-generation media,” Live Nation Urban president Shawn Gee said. “The leadership team has created a scalable business model at the crossroads of gaming, technology, and culture, led by visionary founders who are pushing the industry forward. Through Live Nation Urban’s Black Lily Capital Investment Fund, our mission is to strategically support companies like Cxmmunity with the resources they need to grow, and we’re excited about the opportunities we will build together.”

For Cxmmunity, this moment is about cementing their place as a cultural powerhouse. “A new era of culture-building begins here,” co-founder Chris Peay said. “We’ve landed some major partnerships in the past, but this one feels right. We set out to shift the media landscape—and we did. Now, with Live Nation Urban, we’re not just pushing our culture forward, we’re changing what Black entertainment looks like today. It’s not just about being the biggest. It’s about being the most impactful, and that’s exactly what we intend to be.”

CEO and founder Ryan Johnson echoed that same energy. “Partnering with Live Nation Urban marks a defining moment for our company,” Johnson said. “Together, we’re unlocking new possibilities to scale our live events, deepen access to world-class talent, and leverage first-party data to shape more meaningful cultural experiences. Most importantly, this partnership is about empowering creators, giving them greater platforms, resources, and opportunities to thrive. This isn’t just about growth, it’s about impact.”

And Johnson didn’t stop there. “This partnership is about more than capital. It’s about unlocking niche cultural storytelling through media and advertising, live experiences, data, and creator-led IP. Gen Z no longer looks to traditional celebrities as their cultural compass—instead, creators are leading the way. In response to this shift, we’re forging a groundbreaking partnership to build the largest media and entertainment company for creators.”

With gaming, music, anime, and culture at the core, this partnership is proof that Black creatives aren’t just participating in the entertainment space—they’re building it, shaping it, and setting the standard for what’s next.
