Veracity Savant

Angel Reese isn’t just one of the most talked-about players in the WNBA; she’s setting the standard for what the league’s next era looks like. The Chicago Sky forward, already a two-time All-Star in just her second season, is now making history off the court with her first signature sneaker, the Angel Reese 1, dropping September 18 with Reebok, Elle Magazine reports.

The moment is major. Reese is only the second player in WNBA history, and the first in nearly three decades, to have a signature shoe with Reebok, following Rebecca Lobo’s 1997 debut. Originally slated for a 2026 release, Reese pushed for the shoe to come out now.

“Why not now? Why not year two? Why not be able to wear my shoe while I’m playing and striving for great things?” she told Elle.

The Angel Reese 1 will launch in three colorways: “Diamond Dust” (white with mother-of-pearl accents), “Receipts Ready” (black and white with red), and the all-pink “Mebounds,” a nod to her viral rebounding dominance. Each pair contains personal details, from an “AR” on the sole to a halo graphic on the side. Reese is also releasing a signature apparel line with Reebok; cropped tanks, graphic tees, sweatshirts, and sweatpants, designed to reflect her unapologetic style on and off the court.

This shoe drop isn’t just about fashion—it’s about representation. Reese has quickly become a cultural force in women’s basketball, inspiring young athletes with her game, confidence, and business moves.

“If you can see it, you can be it,” she says. “I didn’t have a lot of that when I was growing up, so now to be one of the people that they can look to and know that they could do great things is incredible.”

From turning a social media joke into a successful “mebounds” merch line, to elevating her tunnel fits into viral moments, Reese is showing what’s possible when a player owns her narrative. She’s helping grow the WNBA’s visibility, attracting fans who see her as more than an athlete; she’s a brand, a style icon, and a role model.

With her shoe about to hit shelves, Reese is making one thing clear: the WNBA isn’t just having a moment, it’s building a movement. And she’s helping lead it, one rebound, one sold-out sneaker, and one unapologetic statement at a time.
