Veracity Savant

Arian Simone is making sure the world knows that Black women don’t fold — we flip the script.

The Fearless Fund CEO and founding partner just launched Fearless Freedom, a bold global initiative giving new life to the fight for economic inclusion, AfroTech reports. And if you’ve been following her journey, you know this moment wasn’t handed to her — it was built, brick by brick, from resilience.

“This is our story,” Simone declared in a powerful caption on Instagram. “Two years ago today, August 2, 2023 [Fearless Fund] was sued by conservative legal strategist Edward Blum, in federal court for alleged discrimination.”

That lawsuit? It wasn’t just about paperwork. It was an attempt to dismantle a movement.

“They filed a TRO — requesting all business cease by August 17, 2023. They filed a PI — a stop on one of our grant programs designed to fund Black female entrepreneurs. They used the same Civil Rights Act of 1866 that was created to protect us… And yet, none of their three attempts worked. Our case was permanently dismissed September 11, 2024.”

Talk about divine timing.

But Simone didn’t stop at the courtroom victory. She used the moment to level up. Enter Fearless Freedom, the latest arm of her mission that’s not just talking about equity — it’s demanding it worldwide.

“Storms don’t break us—they build us,” she said in the launch video. “Fearless Freedom is a bold global advocacy initiative to combat economic inequality and champion true economic freedom.”

The stats are loud and clear: 1.4 billion people worldwide are still unbanked. Women of color are among the most active entrepreneurs, but they receive the least amount of funding. Globally, Black entrepreneurs receive less than 1% of venture capital. Simone is making it clear that these aren’t just American problems — they’re global issues demanding global solutions.

To help drive this movement forward, Fearless Freedom is calling on everyday people, communities, and allies to get involved. One of the first ways to plug in is by following @FearlessFreedomMedia on Instagram and TikTok — the digital home of the movement’s storytelling and action plans. The initiative is also building a robust email list where supporters can get first dibs on new programming, live events, and behind-the-scenes updates.

But the most exciting piece? The upcoming Fearless Freedom Convening — a powerful in-person gathering that will unite community leaders, policymakers, creatives, and advocates worldwide to strategize solutions and amplify voices often left out of boardrooms and headlines.

“Economic equality is a right,” Simone said. “Join us. Tell your story. Stand with us in this movement.”

From investing millions in over 45 women-of-color-led companies, to awarding 500+ grants and educating thousands of founders, Fearless Fund has always been more than a check — it’s been a lifeline. Now, with Fearless Freedom, Simone is taking that energy worldwide.

“Black and Brown women are underfunded. Less than 1% of venture capital goes to businesses led by women of color,” she reminded followers. “That lawsuit wasn’t just an attack on our business model. It was an attack on our belief in equity. On our commitment to justice. On our refusal to leave people behind.”

And now? They’re going global with it.
