If dinner and a show had a baby with a bottle girl and a Michelin-star chef, it would be Gaia Supperclub. Downtown D.C. just got a global glow-up, and yes—it’s lavish, it’s luxe, and it comes with caviar-topped chicken nuggets. (Rihanna would approve.)

Gaia is where dinner gets dressed up and decides to dance. Inspired by Mykonos and Dubai but posted up in DC, it’s all plush seats, star-lit ceilings, and live performances that turn your meal into a whole main character moment.

So, What Is Gaia?

Located at 1025 Vermont Ave NW, Gaia is a Latin-meets-Mediterranean fusion dinner party tucked into a star-lit dreamscape. Opened April 19, it’s already buzzing with energy—and hookah smoke.

The braintrust behind the vibes? A heavy-hitting trio: nightlife vets Wayne Johnson and Tony Perry (you’ve partied at one of their spots, trust), and Mele Melton, an East African-born global hospitality guru who sprinkled in a little Saint-Tropez, a little Dubai, and a lot of Black excellence.

“When coming up with new ideas, I always pull from the places I’ve visited around the world,” Johnson said. “Gaia is a gorgeous, thoughtful space to relax and have a good time.”

Translation: Get cute. They did this for you.

Now Serving: Opulence with a Side of Salmon Lollipops

Chef Sammy Davis (Food Network champ and Milk & Honey founder) is in his global bag for this one.

Must-trys:

  • Gaia Lamb Burger – Juicy lamb, beef bacon, jalapeño queso, on a pillowy brioche bun. This is not your cousin’s cookout burger.
  • Deep-Fried Hummus – Crunchy, creamy, and totally unnecessary in the best way.
  • Peruvian Shrimp Ceviche – Bright, spicy, and perfect for that “shared plate” you don’t actually want to share.

Instagram was already on it:

“So DC is doing her big one with Gaia Supperclub. Latin and Mediterranean fusion, vibes, and hookah? I’m sold.” – @eatdclove

Vibes? Vibes.

Picture this: a violinist walking through the crowd while a DJ spins Afrobeats under a galaxy ceiling. Add dancers, champagne, and table-side flirting. Gaia isn’t dinner. It’s a destination.

“The vibes were giving… I needed a reason to pull out the heels and this was it.” – Threads user who clearly gets it

Cocktails with Main Character Energy

Beverage director Hakim Hamid (of L’Annexe fame) understood the assignment.

Signature cocktails include:

  • Enough is Enough – Strawberry tequila + espresso martini realness
  • Full Frontal – A Porn Star Martini that comes with its own Moët mini bottle (because champagne deserves a plus-one)

The Streets Are Talking

“I went to Gaia Thursday night. Loved it. Let me know when we going back together.” – @candiceobeauty on Threads

“Come to GAIA Supperclub with me! Food was great and reasonably priced! Vibes were grown and sexy—and they got hookah y’all!” – @jayylauryn

TL;DR

If you’re looking for your next flex night, date night, or “just got my hair done and needed somewhere to go” spot—Gaia Supperclub is it. It’s giving international. It’s giving investment. It’s giving… book that table.
