Vince Staples is back on our screens, and it’s safe to say the world needed this one. The Long Beach rapper turned actor and producer returned to Netflix on November 6 with a brand-new season of The Vince Staples Show, and from the looks of it, things have gotten even wilder.
Season 2 picks up in the aftermath of a tragic death, sending Vince on a chaotic journey in search of inner peace. But peace doesn’t come easy. Along the way, he’s forced to confront the ghosts of his past in ways only Vince Staples could make both hilarious and deeply human.
The satirical comedy, which quickly became a fan favorite after its debut, comes straight from the mind of Staples himself. It’s executive-produced by Kenya Barris, Staples, Corey Smyth, William Stefan Smith, Andrea Sperling, and Leonard Chang, with Staples, Ian Edelman, and Maurice Williams serving as co-creators. This season brings even more star power with Vanessa Bell Calloway and Naté Jones joining the cast.
When the show was first renewed, Staples told reporters: “The Vince Staples Show is back! The people have spoken and the most riveting, captivating, and polarizing show on Netflix is returning for Season 2. Get ready for hijinks that only a mother can love. Thank you, Netflix!”
That same sharp humor and unfiltered perspective that made the first season a hit is back in full force. Season 1 delivered a mix of laugh-out-loud moments, emotional storytelling, and cultural commentary, all wrapped in Staples’ signature blend of sarcasm and soul.
As he explained to Tudum during the show’s debut, “We’re able to have 365 episodes of this thing because they’re all based on what it’s like to just exist day-to-day. Next for Vince is literally anything because anything could happen at any moment, that’s just how life works.”
Since the show’s debut, Staples hasn’t slowed down. Between dropping his critically acclaimed album Dark Times, trending weekly on X for his sharp wit, and landing on the TIME100 Next list, Vince has continued to prove that his range extends far beyond music.
Now, with The Vince Staples Show returning for its second season, fans get to watch him bring that same magnetic energy to the screen once again, blurring the lines between comedy, culture, and chaos in a way that only he can.
