What started as a family joke turned into a genius idea. Influencer and creative dad Justin Wilson, known for showcasing his family’s incredible musical talents, just dropped the I’m Bored App, and parents everywhere are already calling it a game-changer.
“The I’m Bored App is here!” Wilson announced on social media. “This app started as sort of a joke but evolved into something I’m really proud of. We’ve been using this app for a couple months now and I’m happy to finally share it with the world!”
Designed to make screen time safe, fun, and educational, I’m Bored blends music education, creativity, and family engagement into one beautifully built experience. The app was created by Wilson, a Grammy-winning musician and an educational psychologist best known for his viral Wilson World musical content with his wife and children. The new app blends Wilson’s love for education and music with his family-first brand, a combination that ensures both fun and function.
“We know you want safe, worry-free screen time for your child,” reads the App Store description. “We also know that you want educational content that doesn’t feel like school — something kids will actually choose to play.”
Each feature inside I’m Bored was crafted to teach real-world skills through play. From Word Theatre, which helps kids build vocabulary through storytelling, to Beat Bop, where young learners can practice rhythm and drumming to original Wilson family songs, every element feels like an extension of the family’s musical legacy.
But the lineup doesn’t stop there. Key Quest offers piano-based memory games, Scale Detective turns music theory into a puzzle-adventure, and Boombox serves up ad-free, Wi-Fi-free jams that parents can actually trust. Plus, the Activity Tracker helps families balance “Must Do” and “Want To” moments with a sleek, interactive chart that makes learning (and parenting) a little easier.
Wilson’s approach feels fresh because it came straight from his own home. “These games are inspired by the teaching methods we use with our own children,” he explained. The result? An app that transforms everyday moments of boredom into bursts of creativity and connection.
At its core, I’m Bored is about turning idle time into inspired time, showing families that learning can be loud, musical, and full of joy.
The I’m Bored App is now available for download on the Apple App Store.
